The Italian Vermouth

DISCOVER THE ORIGINS OF ANTICA FORMULA

The history of the Italian aperitif started in Turin in 1786. After studying to be a herbalist, Antonio Benedetto Carpano invented the formula that gave rise to the Vermouth category. That’s how the Vermouth category was created. The name derives from “Wermuth” the German name for artemisia, the most important botanical element in its production. Carpano is, thus, the founder of a line of wine-based liqueurs that, after years of adjustments to obtain the best, gave light to Antica Formula: the Formula par excellence.
