Bushmills Rum Cask Rare Release Reserve is matured in first fill Caribbean rum casks.
On the homeward leg of her journey the SS Bushmills docked in St Vincent, restocking her hold with rum. We continue this tradition today, refilling small batches of seasoned rum casks with our fine single malt Irish whiskey and storing them in our cool warehouses.
Then we wait as new flavours are slowly drawn out of the wood, combining vibrant new tropical notes with our famously smooth Irish whiskey.

Tasting notes
Nose: Sweet pineapple and mangos with honeyed fruit and fudge. Palate: Rich and creamy toffee & light oak with a complex sweetness, tropical fruit notes & subtle spice. Finish: Strong and smooth with more oak and vanilla.

Bushmills is the oldest licensed distillery in Ireland, with a history that dates back to 1608 when King James I granted a license to Sir Thomas Phillips to distill whiskey in the area of the River Bush in County Antrim in what is today Northern Ireland
