Tasting notes
Nose: A richly spiced character woven into delicious vanilla.

Palate: Detect layer on layer of sweet stewed fruits and dark chocolate fused with nutmeg and cinnamon, much of which can be attributed to years slumbering in Spanish Sherry butts.

Finish: Displays a burst of zesty orange with fresh ginger, cocoa and rich fruitcake.
Consumption tips
Try your next dram of Scallywag with a chunk of good-quality dark chocolate. The bitterness of the chocolate will enhance the rich, fruity notes of our Sherried Malt - but be careful - this combination is dangerously decadent and as a result, very moreish!

The Manhattan Cocktail:
Fill both a cocktail glass and a mixing glass with ice. Add 25ml of Scallywag and 15ml of Sweet Vermouth to the mixing glass and stir well. Discard the ice from your cocktail glass. Strain the cocktail into the now-chilled serving glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Marriage of the finest Speyside Malts including - amongst others - Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes. Non-chill-filtered, this Small Batch bottling has a distinct rich, dark colour - extracted purely from the fine Spanish Sherry Butts used during maturation.
Product history
It all began in 2009 with Big Peat; a marriage of Single Cask Single Malts only from Islay. Then followed Scallywag in 2013 (Speyside), Timorous Beastie in 2014 (Highlands), Rock Island in 2015 (Islands), The Epicurean in 2016 (Lowlands), and finally TheGauldrons in 2017 (Campbeltown).
